Hotel Druk, Phuentsholing

The hotel stands near the town centre, close to the gate and the Zangtho Pelri temple, which makes it easy to walk to the immigration office early in the morning. Rooms are plain and comfortable, with air conditioning, which matters in Phuentsholing's heat for much of the year.
The restaurant serves Bhutanese, Indian and Chinese dishes, and the staff are used to handling Indian families and groups crossing the border. It belongs to the Druk Hotels group, which also runs Hotel Druk in Thimphu.

Questions travellers ask
Good to know
How far is Hotel Druk from the Phuentsholing immigration office?
A few minutes' walk. The hotel is in the town centre near the Bhutan Gate, so guests can reach the immigration office as soon as it opens. This saves time on the morning you collect permits and leave for Thimphu or Paro. Taxis and buses are also close by.
Does Hotel Druk Phuentsholing have air conditioning?
Yes. Rooms are air-conditioned, which is important from March to October, when Phuentsholing is hot and humid with temperatures often above 30°C. In winter the climate is mild and fans are usually enough. Check current room types when booking. Ask for a room away from the street if you are a light sleeper.
Is it worth staying in Phuentsholing rather than Jaigaon?
If you value quiet, clean streets and an easy morning at immigration, yes. A night in Phuentsholing does add the SDF of ₹1,200 per person. Budget travellers often sleep in Jaigaon instead. Hotel Druk suits those who want a calm first night in Bhutan.
