Sinclairs sits on the Chalsa hilltop in about 20 acres of garden, looking down over tea estates and the Gorumara forest towards the plains. Rooms are in cottage blocks with private balconies, and there is a swimming pool, a children's pool, a multicuisine restaurant and a bar.

It is a good choice for families and couples who want comfort between safaris. From here Gorumara, Murti, Samsing and Jhalong are all within an hour, and the staff can arrange cars and help with safari bookings. It is busy with Kolkata families during the Puja and winter holidays.

How far is Sinclairs Retreat Dooars from Gorumara?

The resort is on the Chalsa hilltop, about 15 km and 25–30 minutes from Lataguri and the main Gorumara safari counter. Murti is about 10 km away and Samsing about 20 km. For a dawn safari you will leave the resort around 5 am, so arrange a packed breakfast the night before.

Does Sinclairs arrange Gorumara safaris?

The front desk can help with safari bookings and cars, but slots are controlled by the forest department and sold online and at the Lataguri counter. Ask the resort to confirm your slot before you arrive in peak season. Safari fees are paid separately from the room. Check current status before you travel.

Is Sinclairs Retreat Dooars good for children?

Yes. It has a children's pool, open lawns, bicycles and a restaurant that can cook simple food. Rooms are spread over a slope, so ask for a block near the main building if you have small children or older relatives. Book early for school holidays.
