Evening at the Kafer viewpoint

Kafer is a small settlement a short distance from Lolegaon with an open view to the north. In the late afternoon, when the day's haze clears, the mountains sometimes show with soft light on their faces.
It is a pleasant place to sit after the canopy walk, with a few tea stalls and benches. On weekends local families come out too.
Weather changes fast; carry a jacket even on warm days.
Questions travellers ask
Good to know
How far is Kafer from Lolegaon?
Kafer is only a short distance from Lolegaon, about a kilometre by most accounts. Many visitors walk; others stop on the way into or out of the village. It has a mountain view on clear days and a few small stalls for tea and snacks.
Is Kafer better at sunrise or sunset?
Sunrise usually gives clearer air, but most visitors go to Jhandi Dara for dawn. Kafer is a good late-afternoon stop when the light softens. From October to February the evening view can be clear; in spring haze often hides the mountains.
Can I stay in Kafer instead of Lolegaon?
There are a few stays around Kafer, and it makes little difference since the two are so close. Choose by the room, the view and the reviews. Staying close to the forest makes the canopy walk easier, while some Kafer rooms have more open views.
